Entrepreneurs Hub are pleased to announce that Duncan Print Group has acquired fellow Hertfordshire business Bridger Packaging to support its growth strategy.

About Duncan Print Group and Bridger Packaging

If you have ever bought Sellotape, eaten Harrods chocolates, used a Pritt Stick, polished your car with Autoglym, hung your wallpaper with Solvite, or freshened your home with Neutradol (to name but a few), then there is a fair chance Bridger Packaging has made it into your home at some point.

Trading as Bridger Packaging,  T.D. Bridger Ltd was a folding carton manufacturer specialising in printed cartonboard and microflute packaging, providing folding cartons to a wide range of commercial sectors including food, automotive and pharmaceuticals. Founded in 1927, T.D. Bridger was established in its current form in 1941. Since then, the company has worked on the production of cartonboard based packaging solutions and is perfectly placed to capitalise  on the continual move away from plastic packaging.

As part of the deal, which was completed in June, all 26 staff and most of the machinery of Letchworth-based Bridger Packaging have transferred to Duncan Print Group’s premises, which are based in Welwyn Garden City. Duncan Print Group managing director James Duncan said Bridger Packaging was a fantastic addition to the group that would bring “a wealth of experience and skill to our site as well as an impressive kit list that will add significant firepower to our production and excellent cover across all departments”.

Commenting on the transaction former Bridger Packaging owner Lawrence Bridger said “ We are really grateful for the support we have received from Entrepreneurs Hub in completing this deal. Mike O’Connor and the Entrepreneurs Hub team have supported us in all respects and I would thoroughly recommend Entrepreneurs Hub to anyone considering a sale of their business

Mike O’Connor commented “I have really enjoyed working with Lawrence and getting to understand the packaging sector. I very much hope that under the ownership of Duncan Print the Bridger business will continue to thrive.”
