We love golf almost as much as we love helping entrepreneurs sell their business – and we’re passionate about local causes – so we didn’t think twice about taking part in a recent fundraiser at Dummer Golf Club near Basingstoke.
The 4th Charity Golf Day was held in aid of Ark Cancer Centre Charity, who need to raise £5 million towards a cancer treatment centre, to be built by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The event was organised by Clarke & Sons, a local firm of solicitors, who have been supporting the charity for several years and who have raised over £70k so far.
The much-needed facility will provide local cancer patients with a range of therapies; made available from one purpose-built site that integrates conventional and supportive cancer care.
Joining Malcolm Murray and Tim Allaston from our team for this special occasion were Darrel Jones, Managing Director of Elite Fire Protection Services (who we helped sell their business last year) and Paul Denning, Regional Director of The FD Centre.
Malcolm Murray, Director of Entrepreneurs Hub, describes the day:
“Fuelled by tea, bacon rolls and sunshine, we joined others from the community for a fantastic morning of golf including an 18-hole shotgun start and 4-ball team event. Raising hundreds for charity, the day continued with a BBQ on the clubhouse terrace and a prize presentation, raffle and auction.
“Having conventional and supportive services under one roof will really enhance the care of local people affected by cancer, so we were delighted to participate in this event and help Ark Cancer Centre Charity get closer to realising their fundraising goal.”
