Alison Budge
Document Writer
What part do you play in the Entrepreneurs Hub team?
As a document writer, I write the IMs that we send to prospective acquirers. I love learning about each business that trusts us with selling their company, and discovering insights into that industry. Uncovering what drives value in the business and identifying the incredible opportunities on offer are always very exciting challenges.
What experience do you bring to the table?
Many (many!) years of translating complex and multi-faceted information into a simple message. I’ve been writing in the M&A space for 13 years as I find it so interesting and varied. From a background in science, progressing to teaching and writing training materials for engineering and software companies, I love the tech and innovation space. I’ve worked in global corporates and academia, but my preference is working with SMEs and start-ups where energy, problem solving, and a ‘can-do’ attitude is the order of the day.
What do you like to get up to outside of work?
Anything that celebrates beauty in our world… that of nature by camping and hiking, that of exciting and interesting food and wine, that of exploring new travel destinations, any-and-all art and music performances, and the beauty of simply sharing space and time with special people.
What’s the best thing about working at Entrepreneurs Hub?
The kindness of the team. There is a real interest in the people behind the operational roles, led by example from the founders and managers.
You can only listen to one artist or band for the rest of your life. Who is it?
The toughest question… only 1?? Right, Queen it is!
What’s something we might be surprised to learn about you?
I play the cello in a city orchestra, mostly performing in a working wine cellar where the stainless steel tanks above us provide simply the best acoustics!
