David Elliott

Finance Director

What part do you play in the Entrepreneurs Hub team?

I support the project directors and our clients from a finance perspective and assist and advise through the due diligence process.

What experience do you bring to the table?

With over 25 years’ experience in the finance space, having qualified with Price Waterhouse (PwC) and then worked at a senior level with three global corporates in the manufacturing sector, I have experienced over 30 acquisitions (on the buy side). This gives a unique perspective in that I understand what the buy side needs to see.

A few years ago, I qualified as an ILM Level 7 Executive Coach which has proven invaluable in working with exiting entrepreneurs who are preparing for a life change.

What do you like to get up to outside of work?

My children have grown up and now have children of their own. My son has followed me into corporate finance, but my daughter is an entrepreneur and is building her own business – so we end up talking a lot about business ideas and new opportunities.  My principal activity outside work is walking with Mick (my Jack Russell dog). However, I’m told that I am more than a little passionate about rugby – supporting Ireland and Leinster.

What’s the best thing about working at Entrepreneurs Hub?

The teamwork is incredible coupled with the privilege of being able to work with some very smart people. We have developed a culture of mutual support and respect.

You can only listen to one artist or band for the rest of your life. Who is it?

Although I have a passion for Italian opera, if I could only listen to one composer for the rest of my life it would probably have to be J S Bach. But I would miss hearing “the blues” from time to time.

What’s something we might be surprised to learn about you?

I am absolutely terrified of heights – even the top of a ladder.
