Jon Blows
Finance Director
What part do you play in the Entrepreneurs Hub team?
I support the project directors and our clients from a finance perspective and assist and advise through the due diligence process.
What experience do you bring to the table?
I qualified with Deloitte in London before being seconded to Luxembourg and Barcelona on Special Projects. From there I have worked in large corporates such as Bunzl plc globally, and then in SMEs in leadership positions. For the last 20 years I have worked mainly as a fractional CFO focussed in areas such as Science, Broadcasting, Manufacturing and Professional service sectors. In that period I have led the finance side in a number of sale and purchase processes to PE, Trade and internal management teams.
What do you like to get up to outside of work?
Over the last few years I have worked with my wife renovating properties for letting and holiday accommodation. Our dogs, cats and chickens take up a lot of time but provide endless joy. When we get any opportunity we travel around the UK in our motorhome escaping to far flung parts.
What’s the best thing about working at Entrepreneurs Hub?
I have been so impressed by the experience gathered in one place. Working with the team is great and they are all so supportive and generous with their time.
You can only listen to one artist or band for the rest of your life. Who is it?
This has to be the hardest of all these questions. I move about genres all the time, from 60s to 00s, right now I really like Raye but at my soul I’m probably a late 70s early 80s person and ELO was a large part of my early life.
What’s something we might be surprised to learn about you?
I was involved in a re-creation of Ulysses voyages in a replica Greek galley going from Istanbul around the Greek Islands, for around 4 months in the mid 80s for Tim Severin.
