Mike O’Connor
Partnering Director
What part do you play in the Entrepreneurs Hub team?
As the Partnering Director I work closely with the advisory and wealth management community to provide advice and assistance to their clients at the point they are considering their exit options.
What experience do you bring to the table?
I have worked in the M & A sector across three decades, so am very familiar with the mix of qualities that acquirers look for when determining whether a business is attractive to them. With close on 50 personal deals completed and over 400 deals within the wider EH business we have encountered countless challenges, but we are always prepared and ready for the next one.
What do you like to get up to outside of work?
A good deal of my time is spent with the grandchildren, which is a joy. Football, cricket, tennis, swimming along with regular visits to St Marys to see Southampton. Sadly, this year it won’t be Premiership football, but we live in hope for next year. On the home front I am blessed to have an amazing wife who loves to cook and never complains when I need to take a late-night call from a client!
What’s the best thing about working at Entrepreneurs Hub?
The best thing about working with Entrepreneurs Hub is knowing that everyone in the business is aligned and centred on one goal – to help our clients to sell their business and allow them to move on to the next chapter in their lives.
You can only listen to one artist or band for the rest of your life. Who is it?
Sarah McLachlan
What’s something we might be surprised to learn about you?
I got to climb the outside of the Elizabeth Tower (more commonly known as Big Ben) back in 1984 when the clock hands were removed for refurbishment.
